Global Design Thinking Festival 2022

In 2022, we have many reasons to celebrate: Students have been learning at the HPI School of Design Thinking for 15 years now, and we have been connecting the international Design Thinking community with the Global Design Thinking Alliance (GDTA) for five years.

But that’s not all: For another highlight this year, we look to Cape Town, South Africa. The Hasso Plattner d-school Afrika at the University of Cape Town is opening the first building designed specifically for a Design Thinking school.

To properly celebrate, reflect and discuss these events and the impact of Design Thinking on business and society, HPI D-School Potsdam and Hasso Plattner d-school Africa will host the Global Design Thinking Festival in September and October 2022. Read more

Construction gets underway for Africa’s first Design Thinking school to be located at UCT

Africa’s first school dedicated to design thinking located at the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Middle Campus is officially under construction, with groundbreaking having begun this month. The d-school’s sponsor, Hasso Plattner Foundation (HPF), is funding the new building, which will play a strategic role as part of UCT’s 2030 vision. Read more

How to accelerate urban innovation and development with Chinese local government?

On October 9, 2018 the Design Thinking Center of Communication University of China (CUC) and the SAP Next-Gen China team were invited to Wuhan City to speak to 400+ government officials holding titles higher than Deputy Division Head level. The report to those officials was being hosted in Wuchang District Great Hall.
