Dermot Casey, IRDG CEO

The Industry Research & Development Group (IRDG) is Ireland’s non-profit, business-led network focused entirely on research, development and innovation (RDI). Established in 1992, our mission is to drive excellence in innovation within Irish industry to create growth, jobs and prosperity. Today, IRDG supports over 300 member organisations—from start-ups to multinationals—across all sectors of the economy, with a balanced mix of indigenous and FDI firms. As part of our commitment to building innovation capability, IRDG pioneered the introduction of Design Thinking training for industry in Ireland. Our programmes are tailored to business needs and help teams take a structured, creative approach to solving complex challenges—whether related to products, services or internal processes. At IRDG, we believe that growing the skills, knowledge and mindset for innovation is essential, not only for individual business success, but for the national innovation ecosystem.
