GDTA Spotlight with Linda Hickman
At the GDTA Spotlight session on April 26th, 2023, we welcomed Dr. Linda J. Hickman, Associate of the London School of Economics. She talked about “Design Thinking for Startups.”
At our GDTA Spotlight session on January 18th, we were welcoming our speakers Isabella Stranger, Gastón Roca and Yael Gitman from D-School Chile. They talked about how the first Latin American D-School came to life at the very core of a Chilean University, what they have built in 3 years of history, and what challenges they are hoping to tackle next.

Isabella Stranger is Program Manager and Professor at D-School Universidad Mayor. She has a bachelor and master’s degree in Business Administration as well as studies in Intellectual and Industrial Property, Creativity and Design Thinking, and Effective Teaching. She is focused on spreading the design thinking mindset through Design Thinking Undergraduate Programs at Universidad Mayor.

Gastón Roca is a director/ screenwriter/ and cinematographer in film and television. He has a master’s degree in Liberal Arts and is Program Manager and Professor at the D-School of Universidad Mayor. Gastón is focused in stimulating creativity and creative collaboration through Design Thinking among Universidad Mayor Faculties, collaborators and project partners.

Yael Gitman is Program Manager and Professor at D-School Universidad Mayor. She is a Physiotherapist, Master in Sports Medicine, with studies in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and is a certified Design Thinking Coach. Yael has clinical experience in the prevention and treatment of muscle-skeletal conditions as well as teaching at several undergraduate courses. Currently, she aims to strengthen the Design Thinking community within the university and help inspire all members to become design thinkers.
