March 2024: GDTA Spotlight with Prof. Jochen Schweitzer, & Prof. Sihem BenMahmoud-Jouini on “Transform with Design: Creating new Innovation Capabilites with Design Thinking”

Transform with Design presents examples of creative organizations across industries and geographies, and recounts the stories of how they adapted design thinking to build their innovation capabilities. Written by leading industry experts and design-thinking scholars, the book features ten anecdotal experiences by professionals who detail the implementation of design thinking as it unfolded for them. Contributors share how they navigated the many barriers and obstacles they encountered along the way and describe their experience from early beginnings to the present, revealing valuable lessons for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.

Jochen Schweitzer: is an Associate Professor of Strategy, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Business School and the Director of UTS’s Executive MBA. As an advocate for innovation and entrepreneurship with over 25 years of experience in engineering, strategy consulting, and academia, Jochen is dedicated to innovation and excellence in tertiary education and research.

Sihem BenMahmoud-Jouini: is an associate professor of innovation in the ISOM department (Information Systems and Operations Management) and researcher at GREGHEC since January 2006. She teaches project management, new product development processes and management of innovation in Executive Education, Exec MBA, MBA and Masters. She is scientific director of the MS X-HEC Entrepreneurs, of the Project Innovation Design (PIC) major and of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation major (Executive MBA).Her research focuses on the management of breakthrough innovations, the organization of exploration and the development processes of new products. She is also interested in the role of design in innovating and transforming organizations.

February 2024: GDTA Spotlight with SNS Institutions

In our talk on February 20th, 2024 four educators from SNS Insitutions Coimbatore, India shared their insights on Design Thinking in education starting with K12 to PhD in several streams. SNS had recently crossed 25yr mark with nearly 14K + student fraternity and nearly 37k+ alma mater. The Design Thinking Framework is applied to improve the quality of teaching methodologies to increase student engagement. For this to come true, one measure introduced is 3P Culture: Purpose, Process, People.

Session #4 with Arne van Oosterom, Design Thinkers Academy

After 16 years of running projects using Design Thinking, teaching it, living it, Arne came to some important conclusions. During this session he shared these moments of clarity and darkness and left participants optimistic, energised and proud to be part of the Design Thinking movement.
