1. Data Storage and Data Use
The data entered in connection with an event is collected, processed and saved by Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering gGmbH for the purpose of invoicing and for the forwarding of further information offers. Under no circumstances is the data disclosed to unauthorized third parties, unless required by law. You may revoke the consent you have given at any time and/or object to the future use of your data.
2. Right of Objection and Right to Access

Please note that we are only able to provide you with information if you have already given us your complete first and last name, your current address and (where appropriate) your former address, as well as your date of birth and your email address. This information is for comparison purposes only and thereby serves to prevent unauthorized parties from gaining access to your personal data. It would also be helpful for us to have the names of any events from which we have previously collected data from you in the past so that we can identify the relevant data more quickly.
3. Java Script and Flash
This website uses JavaScript and Flash to increase the user-friendliness of our website. JavaScript does not store any personal information. If you disable JavaScript via your browser setting, you can still make extensive use of our Internet services.
4. Links to Other Websites
Our website contains links to the websites of other, unrelated providers. After clicking on such a link, we no longer have any influence on the processing of any data that is transferred to the third party (such as the IP address or the URL on which the link is located), since the behavior of third parties is beyond our control. Therefore, we cannot accept any responsibility for the processing of any such data by third parties.
The social media buttons used are purely links, and thus not the so-called “like” and “share” buttons used by social media services. They do not transfer customer data or IP addresses.
5. Server Log Files
The page provider collects and stores information in so-called “server log files,” which your browser automatically transmits to us. This information is:
- Browser type and Browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
This data cannot be associated with specific individuals. A combination of this data with other data sources is not carried out. We reserve the right to retroactively check this data if we become aware of warranted indications of unlawful use.
6. Contact Form
This website uses the WordPress Plugin “Contact Form 7”. If you send inquires to us via the contact form, we will store your information from the inquiry form, including the specified contact information, for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. This data will not be forwarded to third parties without your explicit consent.
7. Newsletter Data
If you wish to subscribe to the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you, as well as information that permits us to verify that you are the owner of the specified email address, and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Other data is not collected. We use this data exclusively for sending the information requested and do not forward it to third parties. This website uses the WordPress Plugin “Contact Form 7”.
The consent granted for the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending the newsletter can be revoked at any time, for example via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.
8. SSL Encryption
This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of sensitive content—such as the requests you send to us as site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection in the change of the browser’s address line from “http: //” to “https: //” and by the lock symbol in your browser line. When SSL encryption is activated, the data you have sent us cannot be read by third parties.
9. Google ReCAPTCHA
For the purpose of protection against misuse of our web forms as well as against spam we use the Google reCAPTCHA service as part of some forms on this website. By checking a manual entry, this service prevents automated software (so-called bots) from performing abusive activity on the site. In accordance with Art. 6 (1) Clause 1 lit. f the preservation of our justified legitimate interests in the protection of our website against misuse as well as an interference-free representation of our online presence.
Google reCAPTCHA is an offer from Google LLC (www.google.com).
Google LLC is headquartered in the United States. This country has an adequacy ruling from the European Commission. This goes back to the EU US Privacy Shield, under which Google LLC is certified. A current certificate can be viewed here: https://www.privacyshield.gov/list
Google reCAPTCHA uses a code embedded in the website, a so-called JavaScript, as part of the review methods that allow an analysis of your use of the website, such as cookies. The automatically collected information about your use of this website, including your IP address, is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In addition, other cookies stored by Google services in your browser are evaluated by Google reCAPTCHA.

12. Vimeo
Our webite uses plugins from the video portal Vimeo.com. The site operator is Vimeo LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York, NY 10011, USA. When you visit one of our Vimeo-plugin enabled sites, a connection will be established to the server from Vimeo.
Vimeo will then be informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged in to your Vimeo account, you allow Vimeo to associate your surfing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account.
